Interests

I’m definitely a dreamer by which I dream of a lot of things that are not really within the hand of the beholder. Sometimes things are there, and they’re not. Most of the time they have never been there. Some times wishing upon a star is also the precept.

I’ve been thinking of a page with a bunch of different things on it just so I can show the world what I like, and what things I can remind myself of. Whether it is a favourite album, part of the city, future goals, and different ambitious things that are not really at grasp at the moment. So, this page will present things that represent things of that nature. This will allow me to archive things so I can go back to it, and have a page of quality likable things I want. I’ll sort out the page with sections of interest.

I often go to the library where I borrow books to read which is quite awesome since it is a free resource for anyone in any municipality, and I’m fortunate enough to actually have a really good library system where I live. They have everything I want, and more. The list I’ve written has come from research within the library website, and other findings along the way. There’s a couple books I have in the list that I’ve read and are worth buying. I’ll mark the entries with an asterisk in which I’ve read, or started reading.

PLACES

  • Seattle: The place where grunge from the 90s started. A lot of big names came from here, and it’s supposedly a really beautiful city on the west coast of the United States.
  • North Carolina: Which is situated on the east coast of the United States in Wilksboro North Carolina. It also has rich history of music. MerelFest is a traditional Appalachian music festival where a lot of musicians come together and play some really nice music. Traditional Appalachian music, and whatever else the musicians want to play. It sounds like a good time.
  • The Galapagos Islands: Where Charles Darwin set off onto the ocean and ended up on the H.M.S. Beagle to study as a naturalist in which he later took theories and he evidently gathered on the Beagle expedition and is featured in On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. I’d like to just go there and see is abundant about it. All the propagating species, etc..
  • Sackville, New Brunswick: Where my father was from, and where I felt at home the most. It’s a great town, with a lot of countryside and one of the best Universities in Canada. I’d like to eventually move, and live here. There has always been a calling to be there.
  • Alberta, Canada: A place here jobs are, and one of the richest parts of Canada. A lot of jobs, money and people flock to this part of the country to hopefully find a good job. Fort McMurray is Boom Town.

ART

I’ve always loved admiring skills that differentiate interesting people who love to call their work a piece of art. Whether it is music, painting, sketching, or some eccentric thing that people either really hate, or a limited amount of people love which makes eccentricities propagate. I define art as, ‘Freedom of Expression’ that can be interpreted in many ways. I love how any artist can have an open mind yet know what they want. I often visit an excessive amount studios which are open on Art Crawl night in Hamilton, Ontario which is the second Friday of every month of the year. Super Crawl is a relatively new event which closes part of the downtown core. Streets get flooded with art, people, music, and organizations that support what the art district defines. Year 2010 will be the second annual event. It rained last year, and it was still very successful. This year will be even better.

Instruments

As a multi-instrumentalist, I hope soon enough I will be able to represent myself as an unsigned musician who has an album out. At a young age I had a half beat-up classical guitar that my dad converted into a steel-string guitar with a hinged steel bridge that strung up without any hassle. As a child in a musically entwined family, I sooner than later started to appreciate what talent there was. Always observing how my dad played Bluegrass. A lot of Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill and various others. If he wasn’t playing with friends, he’d be watching The Grand Ole Opry with guitar in hand playing with the music that came out of the speakers of the television and furthermore enjoying what he loved.

My experience is as follows: Six years playing drums. Twenty six years of having an interest, and 8 years playing guitar and counting. I’ve played bass off and on as well.

      Here’s a list of instruments I want:

  • Tanglewood Heritage TW15 H B
  • Alvarez AB4102C Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Bass
  • Gretsch Renown 4 Piece with Meinl Byance Cymbals with DW hardware.
